Most of us experience difficult and challenging times in our lives when we feel overwhelmed and unable to cope. When these overwhelmed feelings are unceasing, or we experience a traumatic event, we can easily become distressed. This can show up as anxiety, panic, anger, sadness and other difficult emotions. Or, we can feel empty of any feeling or sense of purpose. It can affect relationships, our work, our motivation, our physical health and even our identity. It may not be easy to feel connected to loved ones, friends and colleagues. We may be living with a sense of foreboding or have no care for the future. 

Talking things through can help immensely but the fear of being judged, not taken seriously or ‘putting on’ other people who have their own problems, can stop us from obtaining the help we need. It is daunting to speak to a stranger about our vulnerabilities and we may be worried that they won't ‘get us’. Please don’t keep struggling alone.
